Overview

Brazil’s automotive market reached a 12-year high in July 2026, with vehicle registrations increasing 14.9% year-on-year to 279,578 units. National production also saw a 5.9% increase, marking its best July performance in seven years.

Chinese manufacturers are significantly expanding their presence, accounting for 23% of total vehicle sales in July. Between January and July 2026, imports rose by 25.7%, with Chinese-made vehicles comprising 52.4% of those imports. In the electric vehicle segment, BYD remains a dominant player.

Following this growth, major automotive companies have initiated large-scale sales promotions. These include the Auto Fest in Brasília featuring brands like BYD, Toyota, and Lexus, as well as a nationwide campaign by Fiat offering discounts across more than 500 dealerships.
