Brazil expands digital public service apps

Entities: Gov.br · CNH do Brasil app · Detran Minas Gerais

Overview

In July 2026 Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) released a free mobile‑web application, “ANP com VC – Postos”, that displays fuel‑quality scores for every fuel station based on five‑year inspection data. The app maps stations with colour‑coded ratings, provides details such as address, distributor and licence status, and lets users file complaints about price abuse or fuel adulteration.

A few weeks later, in August 2026, Brazil’s traffic authority Detran‑MG and the nationwide CNH do Brasil app added functionality for drivers to view traffic infractions, generate payment slips and check demerit points directly on their smartphones. The service, accessed through a Gov.br account, also allows users to transfer points to the actual driver of a violation. Both tools are intended to increase transparency, reduce the need for in‑person visits and improve the overall user experience for Brazilian consumers.

Together, these launches illustrate a broader governmental push to digitise public services, offering real‑time information and streamlined administrative processes across distinct sectors such as fuel distribution and road traffic enforcement.
