Brazil Fies student financing waiting list calls

Overview

The Brazilian Ministry of Education has initiated the process of calling students from the waiting list for the Student Financing Fund (Fies) for the second semester of 2026. The selection process, which began on August 7, is scheduled to continue until September 24.

For this semester, 75,500 vacancies have been made available across 1,274 private higher education institutions. To be eligible, candidates must have participated in the National High School Exam (Enem) from 2010 onwards, maintaining an average score of at least 450 points and a non-zero essay score.

Pre-selected candidates are required to complement their registration details via the Fies Selection portal within three business days of their call. The process concludes with the validation of documentation—such as identification, proof of residence, and high school completion—at the Permanent Commission for Supervision and Monitoring (CPSA) of the chosen institution and subsequently at a bank to finalize the contract.
