Brazil Workers' Party Lula reelection campaign

The Workers' Party (PT) has initiated a multi-pronged strategy to support Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s 2026 reelection campaign in Brazil. This approach includes digital mobilization through social media initiatives like the ‘Lulaverso’ Instagram account and the ‘Pode Espalhar’ distribution platform, alongside targeted religious outreach. To address gaps in support among evangelical voters, the party is launching a National Evangelical Committee with the goal of establishing over 1,000 local committees.

As the election approaches, the PT has transitioned toward large-scale national mobilization. On September 13, three weeks before the first round of the presidential election, President Lula led a series of national mobilizations to bolster his campaign. Supporters participated in over 1,100 activities across approximately 130 Brazilian municipalities, including marches in Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, and São Paulo.

During a live broadcast, Lula emphasized the need to combat disinformation and ‘the lie of the deniers,’ calling for increased social media engagement. He also noted that the PT would reassume responsibility for distributing campaign materials following complaints from grassroots supporters.

The demonstrations also served as a protest against presidential rival Senator Flávio Bolsonaro. Protesters highlighted a corruption investigation involving the Senator and Banco Master. Documents suggest police are investigating potential money laundering and corruption related to the financing of a biopic about Jair Bolsonaro, involving approximately US$ 12 million provided by the bank's owner, Daniel Vorcaro.
