In August 2026, several major Brazilian center and center-right political blocs announced decisions to remain neutral in the upcoming presidential election.

Initially, the União Brasil party confirmed a new leadership slate, electing Camila Rosa as president. Alongside this leadership change, the party announced it would not endorse a specific presidential candidate, such as Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, allowing state directories to support candidates based on local dynamics. Party president Antonio Rueda stated the decision to end automatic support for the Liberal Party (PL) candidate reflected the federation’s “political weight” and “maturity.”
