Brazilian Citroën/Peugeot/Renault SUV launches and discounts
Overview
In late July 2026, Citroën initiated a recall in Brazil for its 2025 Basalt and C3 Aircross models to replace a faulty intake-manifold body, with repairs beginning August 25. During this period, the brand introduced the Aircross XTR, priced at approximately R$156,490.
Early August saw Peugeot debut the 2008 T200 compact SUV, featuring a 1.0-liter turbo engine with 130 hp and a 419-liter trunk. Citroën also launched the Aircross 7 Turbo 200, a seven-seat SUV with 130 hp and up to 26 seat-arrangement options. Following these launches, Citroën rolled out an aggressive discount campaign for the Basalt and Aircross models, running until early September 2026. The promotion included price reductions of up to R$22,000—such as the Basalt Dark Edition dropping to R$119,690 and the Aircross Shine 7 to R$131,790—alongside trade-in bonuses and zero-interest financing options to stimulate sales.
Concurrently, Renault and Citroën updated their SUV offerings. The Renault Kardian Authentic 1.0T AT was introduced starting at R$113,990, featuring a 125 cv turbo engine and a 410-liter trunk. The 2026 Citroën Aircross continues to be marketed in five and seven-seat configurations, utilizing a Turbo 200 engine with a CVT automatic transmission.
By late August, Citroën reorganized its 2027 Aircross lineup in Brazil, shifting focus exclusively to seven-seat configurations by discontinuing the five-seat option and the Shine 7 trim. The 2027 lineup, consisting of Feel 7, Feel Pack 7, and XTR 7 versions, features an adjusted 1.0 turbo engine with a reduced output of 114 cv. While this change increases acceleration time, it reportedly improves fuel consumption.
