Brazilian influencer investigations into illegal gambling

Brazilian authorities have launched investigations into digital influencers for their alleged roles in promoting illegal online gambling and betting platforms.

In one operation, known as ‘Operação Jogo Duplo’, influencer Pamela Cristiane da Silva, known as ‘Pam do Grau’, was targeted for allegedly using her Instagram profile to promote clandestine betting schemes. Investigators claim she used manipulated links to show false winnings to her followers. Authorities reported a significant discrepancy between her declared income and the R$ 928,000 moved through her accounts between June 2025 and April 2026. Legal actions included the seizure of vehicles, blocking of bank accounts, and the imposition of an electronic ankle monitor.

Following this, the Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation into other influencers, including Davi Brito, Raquel Brito, and Bia Miranda. They are accused of using deceptive tactics, such as presenting betting games as ‘guessing games’ or ‘word completion’ activities, to bypass digital platform rules and gambling legislation. Davi Brito has publicly contested the inquiry, stating, “Investigated for what, if there is nothing in my account?” while asserting he has a clear conscience.
