Brazilian municipal innovation and digital initiatives

Brazilian municipalities are implementing programs to foster innovation and digital culture. In Ponta Grossa, the Agency for Innovation and Development has opened registration for the ‘Trilhar’ Startup Development Program, which aims to assist both new business ideas and existing startups through stages focused on scalability and market positioning.

In Maringá, the Maringá Agency for Technology and Innovation (Amtech) is promoting technological inclusion through Municipal Game Day. This initiative includes educational activities and a scheduled public event to launch CIVIQUEST, a platform designed to engage students through citizenship-focused challenges.

Expanding on these digital and civic engagement efforts, Mayor Leo Bezerra in João Pessoa has launched ‘Corrida Você Prefeito’. Developed through a partnership between the Secretariats of Popular Participation, Education and Culture, and Science and Technology, this educational game is designed for students in the municipal school system. The initiative utilizes technology and play to teach students about citizenship, public management, and city functions, encouraging them to identify community needs and propose solutions to foster active participation in local governance.
