Brazilian municipal vehicle fleet expansions

Overview

Local governments across Brazil are investing in new vehicle fleets to modernize public services and infrastructure.

In Pernambuco, the state government delivered 100 air-conditioned buses to the Recife Metropolitan Region to improve passenger comfort and accessibility. This is part of a larger initiative that has seen 1,000 new vehicles delivered since 2023. Similarly, in São José do Rio Preto, 40 new buses equipped with Wi-Fi and accessibility features were introduced to replace older units.

Other municipalities are focusing on specialized utility vehicles. Camboriú invested R$ 775,000 in a high-pressure water jet truck and a 15,000-liter water tanker for urban cleaning, irrigation, and fire support. In Alta Floresta, Mato Grosso, the local government acquired two Volkswagen Constellation trucks for R$ 1.46 million through a state price registration agreement.
