British Business Bank tech investment

Overview

In early July 2026 the British Business Bank announced it had reached a £5 billion cumulative investment milestone and committed an additional £600 million to spur regional growth across the United Kingdom. By the end of the month the bank deepened its support for technology firms by allocating £55.6 million to Highland Europe’s Technology Growth Fund VI, a €1.1 billion vehicle aimed at late‑stage software, AI, cybersecurity, fintech, data and consumer‑technology companies throughout Europe. These actions illustrate a continued strategy of the bank to channel capital into growth‑stage tech enterprises both domestically and across the broader European market.
