Brooklyn woman found dead in trash can

Overview

Police in Brooklyn are investigating the discovery of an unidentified woman’s body found inside a trash can in a parking lot near Plumb Beach. The body was located on a Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of the Belt Parkway and Knapp Street, within the Gateway National Recreation Area.

Emergency services responded to a 911 call around 3:00 p.m., where the woman was found unconscious and pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner removed the body that night.
