BUAP inauguration of Casa de la Reina cultural space

Overview

The Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) has inaugurated ‘Casa de la Reina,’ a new cultural space located at Avenida Reforma 913 in the Historic Center of Puebla. Led by Rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez, the facility is designed to foster artistic development for students and the general public.

The project is being implemented in three stages. The initial phase offers workshops in painting, engraving, and various dance styles, including salsa, bachata, and cumbia. The venue also includes reading areas, a cinema, and a gallery, which is currently hosting a ceramic exhibition by sculptor Gustavo Tanús.

In conjunction with the opening, the university hosted literary events, including a presentation of children’s stories by Mario Iván Martínez and a lecture by writer and journalist Benito Taibo regarding the importance of literature. Programming for the center is expected to be released on social media next month.
