Buenos Aires investment incentive regulation
Overview
The Government of the City of Buenos Aires has moved to regulate the Incentive Regime for Medium Investments (RIMICABA) under Law 6.950. Signed by Chief of Government Jorge Macri via Decree 305/26, the measure provides fiscal benefits and financing mechanisms to attract national and foreign productive investments.
Qualifying properties may receive exemptions from Property Tax and the Lighting, Sweeping, and Cleaning Service Tax (ABL) for new constructions. The Ministry of Economic Development is responsible for the registration, evaluation, and monitoring of these projects to foster job creation, increase exports, and enhance competitiveness.
Subsequent developments indicate the Ministry of Economic Development has advanced the implementation of this regime by designating the General Directorate of Productive Strategy and Promotion Regimes to manage the registry and oversee beneficiary compliance.
