Building demolition accident in Istanbul

Overview

During an urban transformation project in the Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul, a wall collapsed into a third-floor apartment on Karanfil Street. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM in the Telsiz neighborhood, causing debris to fall directly onto a bed inside a room.

A resident, Eren Ulaş, reported that a sibling narrowly avoided injury, stating that if they had woken up “five to ten minutes later,” the debris could have struck them. Following the collapse, workers reportedly attempted to cover the resulting hole in the wall with sacks.
