Bulgarian national unification commemorations

Overview

Bulgaria is preparing to observe the 141st anniversary of the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria with Eastern Rumelia on September 6, 2026. Commemorative ceremonies are organized across various regions.

In Stara Zagora, the municipality and the Second Tundzha Mechanized Brigade will hold a ritual at the ‘Defenders of Stara Zagora’ monument, featuring wreath-laying and a concert. Local celebrations are also planned in the villages of Pryaporets and Ostra Mogila.

In Varna, the municipality, the Bulgarian Navy, and the Varna and Veliko Preslav Holy Metropolis will co-organize events.
