Burkina Faso digital administration modernization

Overview

Burkina Faso is expanding its digital transformation efforts through the implementation of new administrative platforms and the acquisition of modernization funding.

In early August, the Ministry of Health launched the e-Agrément MS platform in Ouagadougou. This digital tool is designed to streamline the authorization process for private health facilities and partnership agreements between the Ministry and various organizations, reducing a previously complex 16-step procedure to a more transparent online system.

By mid-August, the scope of digitalization broadened to include broader administrative and diplomatic sectors. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs introduced three new digital platforms to modernize consular services, diplomatic access, and the ministry’s web presence. Additionally, the country is positioned to benefit from the 71 billion CFA franc Digital Transformation Fund (FTD), established by the West African Development Bank (BOAD) and Germany’s KfW, which supports projects related to public service modernization, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure.
