Busan K-ICT WEEK and AI Festival

Overview

Busan is set to host ‘K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN’ from September 9 to 11 at the BEXCO exhibition center. The event, themed ‘AX Wave in BUSAN, AX Innovation Hub Busan,’ focuses on the city’s artificial intelligence (AI) transformation ecosystem through corporate growth, talent settlement, and citizen engagement.

The week features participation from domestic and international firms, including Germany’s DeepL and Vietnam’s FPT, alongside cloud conferences and industry-specific seminars. To support business expansion, the event includes consultations between local companies and approximately 40 global buyers from 15 countries.

A central component of the programming is the inaugural 2026 Busan AI Festival. Organized in collaboration with the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education as part of a pilot project for educational development zones, this festival aims to bridge the technological gap between the Busan region and the Seoul metropolitan area. It offers public hands-on experiences, such as an AI and Robot Experience Zone operated by the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) featuring humanoid and companion robots, augmented reality activities, and coding missions with autonomous robots. Admission is free, though some programs require pre-registration.

The exhibition also showcases advancements in age-tech and ICT. Eight small and medium-sized enterprises from Anyang are participating via the Anyang Pavilion, presenting innovations such as on-device AI for livestock anomaly detection and AI-driven traffic platforms. Additionally, Ceragem is operating an experience space for age-tech healthcare solutions, including spinal management devices and massage chairs, while engaging in the Global Age-tech Forum to explore wellness collaborations.
