Bybit multi-asset platform expansion

Overview

Bybit has initiated a strategic transition from a cryptocurrency-focused exchange to a multi-asset financial services platform through its ‘Make Your Move’ global brand campaign. CEO Ben Zhou noted that the era of the ‘pure crypto exchange’ is ending as users seek to manage diverse assets in a single location.

Following this strategic shift, the company expanded its platform to include trading for over 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs. This service allows eligible users to trade equities such as Apple, NVIDIA, Tesla, and Micron Technology, as well as the Invesco QQQ ETF, using USDC. These trades provide an economic interest in the underlying securities and are executed via Alpaca, a U.S. self-clearing broker-dealer that also acts as the custodian. The service is managed via Infra Capital Limited, an introducing broker regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius.

Key features of this expansion include the ability to trade fractional shares and receive cash dividends, which are converted into USDC. Access to these services is restricted to permitted jurisdictions; users in the United States, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, the European Economic Area, India, Mauritius, and the UAE are excluded.
