Cainz plastic recycling pilot in Shizuoka
Overview
Cainz has initiated a plastic resource circulation demonstration project in Shizuoka Prefecture, referred to as the ‘Plaricru (Kakegawa Model)’. Conducted in collaboration with Kakegawa City, Veolia Generates, Kino Kankyo, and Trash Lens, the pilot program utilizes AI and digital technologies to streamline recycling processes.
Key features of the project include an AI-driven identification function to help users determine item eligibility and an unmanned reception system accessible via a LINE mini-app. These technological implementations have expanded the variety of collectible items from nine categories to approximately 50 and allow for daily collection. The system also employs remote monitoring through cameras and image recognition to reduce manual labor requirements.
