Calgary 2026 summer festivals

In late July 2026, Calgary announced its summer music programme, revealing line‑ups for two major events. The Calgary Folk Music Festival was set to return to Prince’s Island Park for a four‑day run, featuring a blend of Canadian and international artists such as The Pairs, Kazdoura, Derek Miller, Mary Gauthier, Sam Amidon and local host Kate Stevens. Simultaneously, the city previewed the two‑day Chasing Summer Festival, an EDM‑focused rave at the Max Bell Centre slated for August 1‑2, with headliners Armin van Buuren, Fisher and REZZ among others.

The Folk Music Festival then took place from July 23‑26, showcasing over 65 acts across multiple stages. Highlights included opening performances by Julian Taylor, L.T. Leif and Ivorian reggae star Tiken Jah Fakoly, as well as later shows by country‑pop artist Lola Kirke, folk guitarist Madison Cunningham and Toronto‑based band The Free Label. The event featured workshops, an arts market and food vendors, drawing enthusiastic crowds throughout its four‑day run.
