Canada-US border crossing hour adjustments

Overview

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is adjusting operating hours at various land border crossings in Manitoba and British Columbia to maintain synchronization with United States schedules. These changes follow decisions by several Canadian provinces, including British Columbia, Manitoba, Yukon, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, to adopt permanent year-round daylight saving time while the United States continues to observe seasonal clock changes.

In Manitoba, 13 crossings will implement adjusted hours from November 1, 2026, through March 14, 2027. In British Columbia, nine land ports of entry—including Aldergrove, Carson, Cascade, Chopaka, Fraser, Midway, Nelway, Pleasant Camp, and Waneta—will shift their schedules from 8 a.m.–midnight to 9 a.m.–1 a.m. to align with Washington State. Crossings that operate 24 hours a day remain unaffected. The adjustments aim to improve coordination for travelers and prevent entry denials caused by time discrepancies.
