Cancer Fighters foundation financial and distribution review

The Cancer Fighters foundation has come under scrutiny following reports of financial irregularities and potential conflicts of interest. Investigations revealed that Boxing Challenge, a company wholly owned by the foundation to organize charity boxing matches, spent a significant portion of its 2025 budget on the salary of its sole board member, Jakub Michalski. Concerns were raised by Watchdog Polska regarding Michalski’s dual roles as managing director of the foundation and president of CloudEleven, a PR agency providing services to the foundation. In response, the foundation announced that Boxing Challenge would be placed into liquidation.

To address concerns regarding the distribution of the 292.7 million PLN raised during the ‘Diss na raka’ influencer campaign, the foundation stated that funds are being directed toward Polish oncology. They reported that over 100 million PLN has already been allocated to medical aid, including 52 million PLN for clinic modernizations in Szczecin, Olsztyn, and Białystok.

While some hospitals reported delays in receiving funds, the foundation attributed this to ongoing negotiations over clauses within donation contracts. For example, the Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital in Olsztyn noted that a 1 million PLN donation was transferred on September 30 following negotiations. Additionally, the foundation announced a new 2 million PLN grant program for small oncology support organizations.
