Cape Coast tourism investment and development
Overview
The sixth Inter Tourism Expo (iNTTA), held in Cape Coast from October 21 to 23, 2026, aims to convert Ghana’s tourism potential into viable investment projects to stimulate economic growth and job creation. The event focuses on bridging the gap between available opportunities and the required capital, technology, and expertise through commercial partnerships.
Local leaders and hospitality professionals are working to diversify the region’s tourism offerings beyond historic castles and forts. Efforts include integrating cultural heritage, traditional cuisine, and digital services into the visitor experience. Cape Coast Mayor George Justice Arthur indicated that the assembly is seeking increased investment in boutique hotels, restaurants, conference facilities, and digital platforms.
The expo also highlights ‘Made-in-Ghana’ products—such as clothing, cosmetics, food, and arts and crafts—to strengthen the connection between tourism and local small businesses. Under the theme of the ‘24-Hour Africa Economy and AfCFTA Industrial Acceleration’, the programme includes discussions on agribusiness, digital sovereignty, and tourism infrastructure.
