CapitaLand data centre development in Chennai
Overview
CapitaLand has expanded its digital infrastructure footprint in Tamil Nadu with the development of a new data centre in Chennai’s Ambattur Industrial Estate. The facility, known as CapitaLand Data Centre Chennai 01, is being developed by CapitaLand India Trust (CLINT) with a planned investment of approximately INR 1,940 crore.
The data centre is expected to provide a gross power capacity of 53 MW, including 34 MW of IT power capacity across 13 data halls. It is anticipated to be one of the first liquid-cooled data centres in the region, supporting artificial intelligence, cloud adoption, and digital services. Completion is projected for the end of 2026.
The project was highlighted by the presence of Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, underscoring economic cooperation between Singapore and the state. This move builds upon CapitaLand’s 22-year history of investment in Tamil Nadu.
