The Spanish patient organization Cardioalianza has launched a manifesto titled ‘Que ningún corazón se quede atrás’ (Let no heart be left behind) to advocate for equitable cardiovascular healthcare. These efforts come amid data showing that circulatory system diseases were the second leading cause of death in Spain in 2025, accounting for 25.7 percent of total deaths. Globally, the World Health Organization identifies cardiovascular diseases as the leading cause of death, responsible for approximately 32 percent of all fatalities.
