Overview

Carnival Cruise Line has commenced construction and opened reservations for its newest vessel, the Carnival Tropicale. The ship is the fifth and final addition to the company’s Excel class and is scheduled to debut in Galveston, Texas, in April 2028.

Construction began at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, marked by a ‘steel cutting’ ceremony. The vessel will be approximately 344 meters long, powered by liquefied natural gas, and designed to accommodate over 6,000 guests. Its design is intended to draw inspiration from tropical scenery and the ‘golden era of Las Vegas show business.’

Planned itineraries for the ship include four- to eight-day cruises visiting the Bahamas, Mexico, Honduras, and the Caribbean. Specific destinations include Cozumel, Progreso, Nassau, and Roatan, as well as Carnival’s private islands, Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay. Onboard amenities will include the Carnival WaterWorks Ultra water park, Sunsation Point, and the Grand Central Atrium.
