Carnival Cruise Line loyalty program launch
Overview
Carnival Cruise Line has introduced a new loyalty system called Carnival Rewards. The program utilizes two separate currencies: Carnival Rewards Points, which can be redeemed for cruises or onboard credits, and Status Qualifying Stars, which determine a guest’s loyalty tier.
The status structure consists of four levels: Red, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Additionally, a Milestone Recognition Programme has been established to celebrate guests based on their total number of days sailed, beginning at 50 days. The initial qualifying period for status is scheduled from 1 September 2026 through 31 December 2028.
As part of this rollout, Carnival updated its loyalty program and its Rewards Mastercard, issued by Barclays. The credit card features an earning structure where cardholders receive 3X points on Carnival purchases and 2X points on restaurants and groceries. The card also allows users to earn one Status Qualifying Star per $1 spent on everyday purchases.
