Following the hearing, Peters-Berger, 18, pleaded guilty to first-degree intentional homicide in a Chippewa County court. He was sentenced to life in prison for the murder. Although he was 14 at the time of the incident in April 2022, prosecutors successfully argued to try him as an adult. He will be eligible for extended supervision in 25 years, receiving credit for the four years already served in custody.
