Casa Navàs architectural restoration in Reus
Overview
The Casa Navàs, a landmark of European Modernism in Reus designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, is undergoing a final restoration project to address damage sustained during the Spanish Civil War. A bomb strike on March 24, 1938, destroyed the building’s upper section, including its frontispiece and tower.
Following structural recovery efforts, the owner MaserGrup, in collaboration with Tous Arquitectes and the construction firm Constècnia, has completed the reconstruction of the iconic tower. The project aims to restore the building’s original early 20th-century appearance. An official inauguration titled ‘El retorn d’un símbol: Reus torna a tocar el cel’ is scheduled for November 12 in Plaça del Mercadal.
