Catania health authority initiatives

In July 2026 the regional health authority of Catania (Asp) and the construction‑industry association ANCE Catania signed a protocol to broaden preventive health measures for construction workers and their families. The agreement set out joint actions on information campaigns, cancer screenings, vaccinations, lifestyle promotion, gender‑specific health issues and occupational safety, aiming to embed public‑health services directly in workplaces.

By early August 2026 Asp expanded its digital service platform, AspConTe, adding an oncology‑screening module. The new online section lets citizens view and download negative mammography, HPV/Pap and other cancer‑screening results, book appointments, and receive SMS notifications, while positive results are handled by phone. The rollout extends Asp’s preventive‑health focus from occupational settings to the broader public, leveraging digital tools to improve access to cancer screening.

Together, the two steps illustrate Asp’s broader strategy to integrate preventive health across both specific worker groups and the general population through partnerships and digital innovation.
