The Catania City Council has scheduled an extraordinary session to review a new redevelopment proposal for the Corso dei Martiri area within the San Berillo district.

Led by architect Marco Casamonti and the company IStica, the project seeks to finalize an urban recovery plan for a site that has remained unfinished for more than sixty years. Mayor Enrico Trantino characterized the initiative as a way to address a “significant urban wound” resulting from mid-century demolition works, following decades of legal disputes and unfulfilled masterplans.
