CBI anti-corruption operations in Jammu and Kashmir

Overview

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted multiple anti-corruption operations in Jammu and Kashmir involving the arrest of officials for bribery.

In late September, the CBI arrested a Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, an Agricultural Extension Assistant, and a private individual following a sting operation. The investigation centered on allegations that officials demanded funds to release subsidies under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme.

In early October, the CBI arrested a fireman from the Jammu and Kashmir Fire and Emergency Services in Udhampur. The official was caught accepting a bribe intended to facilitate the issuance of a fire no-objection certificate for a hotel.
