Reports suggest the central government in Moncloa may be seeking a scapegoat to avoid broader responsibility, following the prior resignation of the chief of staff, who claimed to have passed along CNI intelligence. President Pedro Sánchez has indicated that the crisis, with thousands of individuals still in the city, may persist through December.
