Charter Communications media and advertising expansion

Overview

Charter Communications has expanded its advertising and media distribution footprint through strategic restructuring and new partnerships. In July 2026, Charter’s advertising arm, Spectrum Reach, announced it would assume the products and services of New York Interconnect (NYI) as the joint venture ceases operations in late September. This move aims to merge NYI’s local market relationships with Spectrum Reach’s targeting capabilities.

Following this, Charter and Optimum entered into agreements to restore regional news carriage and expand advertising collaboration. The pact includes returning Spectrum News NY1 to Optimum TV customers and News 12 to Spectrum TV customers in the New York metropolitan area. The deal also extends Spectrum News distribution to Optimum customers in Texas and North Carolina, while establishing Spectrum Reach as the advertising sales representative for Optimum’s West markets across approximately 30 Designated Market Areas.
