Chihuahua Conalep education initiatives

In early July, diagnostic exams for incoming students at the Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica (Conalep) in Chihuahua revealed notable deficiencies in mathematics and English. The institution announced a three‑week remedial program in early August, followed by an induction week, to strengthen these subjects and introduce socio‑emotional training, physical activation, and content on systems and artificial intelligence. High‑performing students will be placed in bilingual classrooms.

A week later, Conalep expanded its offerings with a Saturday program that enables young people and adults who have not completed high school to earn a secondary diploma while maintaining work or family responsibilities. Classes for this program start on 31 August. Concurrently, the Technological University of Camargo (UTCam) opened an Industrial Processes Laboratory for industrial engineering students, providing hands‑on manufacturing experience and reinforcing the region’s technical workforce development.

In early August, Conalep signed a partnership with the online high‑school provider Prepa In to offer an accelerated, four‑month completion pathway for adult learners. The model combines live Zoom classes, WhatsApp support and personalized tutoring, allowing participants to obtain their secondary certificate quickly and then enroll in Conalep’s technical programs. This collaboration broadens flexible adult‑education options and aligns with the institution’s goal of expanding access to vocational training in Chihuahua.
