Child homicide cases in New York

Overview

Two separate incidents involving the deaths of young children and the subsequent arrests of their mothers have been reported in New York.

In Ellenville, Angelica Sullivan was arrested and charged with felony second-degree murder following an investigation into the death of her 10-year-old daughter, Kathleen E. Pulido. The investigation, led by the New York State Police and local agencies, followed an August 2025 report of an unresponsive child.

In Queens, Francis Cabello was arrested after allegedly murdering her five-year-old daughter, Fabiana Cabello Singh, in Richmond Hill. Following a 911 call where Cabello reportedly stated, ‘I killed my daughter,’ officers discovered the child unconscious. An autopsy suggested the cause of death was asphyxiation. Cabello remains in custody.
