Overview

The Chilean government has issued Decree No. 98, establishing the seasonal time change schedule for the period between 2026 and April 2029.

Under this decree, the transition to summer time (UTC-3) is scheduled for the night of Saturday, September 5, 2026, when clocks will advance by 60 minutes at midnight. This schedule is intended to increase natural light availability during afternoons and will remain in effect until April 2027.

Certain regions are exempt from these changes. The Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica Region, as well as the Aysén Region, will maintain their permanent time zones. In Rapa Nui and Salas y Gómez Island, the time adjustment will occur on September 5 but at a different hour due to their specific geographic locations.
