Chilean employment and civic initiatives
Overview
The National Training and Employment Service (Sence) has initiated several programs to bolster labor participation and civic engagement in Chile. In the Ñuble region, the agency began the registration and election process for its Civil Society Council (COSOC) for the 2026-2028 term, an autonomous body designed to include representatives from unions, non-profits, and educational institutions in public policy shaping.
In parallel, various regional labor fairs have been organized to connect job seekers with formal employment. In the La Araucanía region, 17 fairs are being coordinated through Municipal Labor Information Offices. Other specialized events include the +Energía Biobío 2026 fair in Concepción, which focuses on the renewable energy and electrical transmission sectors, and the ninth Expo Inclusión in Santiago, which provides job opportunities specifically for elderly individuals and people with disabilities.
