Chilean graphic arts and cultural representation
Overview
Chilean graphic arts and printmaking are being highlighted through various regional and international exhibitions. In San Pedro de Atacama, Eduardo Breems is presenting silkscreen reinterpretations of religious devotions at the Fundación Minera Escondida Art Gallery. Meanwhile, the Ñuble region is hosting the second international Month of Printmaking at the Violeta Parra Gallery, featuring artists from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, alongside the “SUR: Cordillera y después” exhibition at the International Museum of Graphics in Chillán.
Expanding on these cultural activities, printmaking students from the Casa Gonzalo Rojas Cultural Center, led by José Agustín Córdova, have been selected to represent Chile in the VII International Virtual Exhibition in Esquel, Argentina. Additionally, Chilean authors Alejandra Costamagna, María José Ferrada, and Juan Cristóbal Peña participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany, serving as preparation for Chile’s designation as the Guest of Honor at the Frankfurt Buchmesse in October 2027.
