Chilean state property auction initiative
Overview
The Chilean Ministry of National Assets has launched the ‘Se Busca Dueño’ (Owner Wanted) initiative to auction 159 state-owned properties that are currently abandoned, underutilized, or lacking public function. The program intends to stimulate regional investment, promote economic development, and improve neighborhood security by reclaiming deteriorating spaces.
The initial phase of the auction includes 37 properties, including three islands: Isla Sofía in the Los Ríos region, and Isla Sin Nombre and Isla Arturo in the Magallanes region. Other participating regions include Atacama, the Metropolitan Region, Coquimbo, and Los Lagos. Property values are to be determined by a Special Alienation Commission.
Entities
