China express delivery and logistics growth

Overview

China’s express delivery sector has demonstrated significant growth and infrastructure expansion. By late September 2026, the nation’s express delivery volume surpassed 150 billion parcels, reaching this milestone 12 days faster than the previous year. This momentum is supported by rising consumer demand and a structural transformation toward smart and eco-friendly products.

As of October 2026, China has developed what the State Post Bureau describes as the “world’s largest and most widely covered delivery network.” The logistics system now processes an average of 540 million packages daily, or approximately 6,300 parcels per second. Significant infrastructure hubs have been established in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area regions. Additionally, efforts to expand service coverage have resulted in over 81% of administrative villages in 17 pilot counties across central and western China establishing integrated delivery and logistics service stations.
