Chinese premium smartphones launch in Brazil

Entities: Brazil · JOVI Buds Pro · André Varga · JOVI · Allan Feng

Overview

In late June 2026 Xiaomi released its 17T flagship in Brazil, featuring a Leica Summilux camera suite, a 6.59‑inch 1.5K AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 8500‑Ultra SoC, 12 GB RAM, 512 GB storage and a 6,500 mAh battery with 67 W fast charging.

Chinese brand JOVI entered the same premium segment with the X300, promoted as the “best camera in the world”. The X300 carried a 200‑MP Zeiss‑co‑developed main sensor, 50‑MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) and 50‑MP ultra‑wide lenses, MediaTek Dimensity 9500, 12‑16 GB RAM, up to 1 TB storage and OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The device earned ANATEL certification and was positioned against Apple and Samsung.

On 4 August JOVI unveiled two higher‑spec variants: the X300 Ultra and the X300 Fashion Edition (FE). Both ship with ZEISS‑co‑developed camera kits that include telephoto converters, a grip with an auxiliary 2,300 mAh battery and assorted adapters and filters, turning the phones into modular camera systems. The Ultra uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 16 GB LPDDR5 X RAM, 512 GB storage, a 200 MP primary sensor and a 6.31‑inch LTPO AMOLED panel (144 Hz, up to 4,500 nits). The FE is more compact, with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 12 GB RAM and a 50 MP triple‑camera array. Prices start at R$ 19 999 for the Ultra and R$ 7 199 for the FE, with interest‑free installments, PIX discounts and a trade‑in program offered through JOVI’s official store and Mercado Libre. Deliveries began on 14 August.

These launches illustrate an intensifying competition among Chinese manufacturers to capture Brazil’s high‑end smartphone market, leveraging elite optics partnerships and rapid hardware upgrades to challenge established brands.
