Chou Kaguya-hime! film re-release and expansion

Overview

The animated film ‘Chou Kaguya-hime!’ is undergoing a theatrical re-release in Japan following significant commercial success, including box office revenues that have surpassed 2.7 billion yen. The re-release features enhanced viewing formats such as ULTRA 4DX, SCREENX, and Dolby Atmos to simulate the film’s virtual space, ‘Tsukuyomi’. Additionally, the franchise is expanding its merchandise and digital presence. New full-graphic, double-sided T-shirts featuring six character designs are available for pre-order through FaNeMa until October 19, 2026.

The franchise is also expanding into social VR with a recreation of the ‘Tsukuyomi’ space scheduled for release on VRChat on September 25. An online live event is further planned for December 26 via YouTube and VRChat.
