Church burglaries in the Balkans

Overview

In the village of Bušince, near Kosovska Kamenica, perpetrators burglarized the Church of Saint Constantine and Empress Helen. The thieves broke into the donation box and stole more than 1,100 euros.

Nebojša Simić, president of the church committee, reported that the community is deeply unsettled by the incident. He noted that the church currently lacks adequate security and called for the installation of cameras and dedicated staff. The Office for Kosovo and Metohija characterized the robbery as an example of a “deteriorating security situation in the region,” stating that Serbian churches, women, and children are increasingly being targeted.
