Cihampelas Terrace redevelopment in Bandung

Overview

In late July 2026 Bandung’s mayor transferred ownership of the Jalan Cihampelas pedestrian overpass, known as the Cihampelas Terrace, to the West Java provincial government. The handover included the land, the structure and related infrastructure, and was formalised on 30 July.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi announced that the province will manage the redevelopment, run an open‑tender process for demolition and construction, and aims to complete all physical work by October 2026. The project is intended to restore the corridor as a hub for the city’s creative‑industry, fashion and tourism sectors and to support the anticipated reopening of Husein Sastranegara Airport, which is expected to increase visitor flows from neighboring countries.
