Cinemark cinema opening in Villa Lugano

In July 2026, Cinemark inaugurated a new five‑screen multiplex in Villa Lugano, Buenos Aires, within the Factory Parque Brown development. The cinema, with a capacity of about 1,000 seats, is the first large‑scale commercial cinema in the southern Comuna 8 district, a neighbourhood that had lacked a local movie‑going venue for decades. Residents previously had to travel 10–12 km to other parts of the city.

The opening ceremony on 22 July was attended by Buenos Aires mayor Jorge Macri and subsecretary Marcelo Di Mario, who highlighted the project’s role in the city’s south‑city development plan aimed at boosting housing, logistics, employment and cultural options. By 25 July, additional details noted the cinema’s easy access via several bus lines and the nearby Premetro Escalada station, as well as enthusiastic reactions on social media from community members welcoming the new entertainment option.
