Citibank travel reward credit card offerings
Overview
Citibank has introduced various credit card options focused on travel rewards and airline partnerships. Initial offerings include co-branded American Airlines cards, such as the AAdvantage Platinum Select, which features a bonus of 80,000 miles after specific spending requirements, and the premium Executive Platinum card, which provides Admirals Club lounge access. The AAdvantage Platinum Select includes a waived annual fee for the first year, free checked bags for the cardholder and up to four companions on domestic itineraries, and 2X miles on gas, restaurants, and eligible American Airlines purchases. The Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard carries a $595 annual fee and provides a full Admirals Club membership. Subsequent offerings include the Citi Strata Elite card, which provides an introductory bonus of 75,000 points after a $6,000 spend within the first three months. This card includes travel-specific benefits such as an annual hotel benefit of up to $300 for stays of two or more nights booked through Citi Travel, an annual splurge credit of up to $200 for merchants like American Airlines, two $100 Blacklane credits per year, Priority Pass Select access, and four annual Admirals Club passes. Citibank and American Airlines have also launched a refreshed Citi AAdvantage Executive World Legend Mastercard. This version features a welcome bonus of 125,000 miles following a $15,000 spend requirement within five months. It carries a $695 annual fee and introduces benefits including up to $500 in annual statement credits for American Airlines Vacations, increased Lyft credits, and expanded Loyalty Point bonuses. This refreshed card provides complimentary Admirals Club membership and the ability to earn up to 40,000 bonus Loyalty Points annually without specific spending requirements. Additionally, the Citi PremierMiles card remains available as a general-purpose option with varying mile earn rates and Priority Pass access.
