CITY’SCAPE Landscape Awards 2026 recognition

Overview

The 2026 CITY’SCAPE Landscape Awards recognized various Italian projects for excellence in landscape architecture and urban regeneration.

Villa Monastero in Varenna received a special prize in the category of ‘Parks and gardens of historical, artistic or landscape interest’. The project, funded by Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, focused on restoring stylistic cohesion, enhancing botanical diversity, and improving accessibility and efficiency at the botanical garden.

Additionally, the city of Rieti secured third place with the project ‘Tre acque, una pietra’. This initiative, designed by architects Stefano Eleuteri and Giovanni Tomassetti, focused on redesigning the spaces of Porta d’Arce and Piazza Chiesa del Suffragio to promote sustainability and urban climate resilience.
