Civil unrest and protests in Mexico

Overview

Protests and roadblocks have emerged in various Mexican regions driven by infrastructure and healthcare grievances.

In Oaxaca, residents of the Hacienda Blanca development blocked the Circuito Interior to demand the opening of a pending road access point, citing connectivity issues and road saturation. Meanwhile, in Nezahualcóyotl, patients suffering from renal failure blocked Bordo de Xochiaca avenue. The demonstrators are protesting the suspension of hemodialysis services at the Hospital Gustavo Baz Prada, which they attribute to equipment maintenance and shortages of medical supplies. Protesters noted that previous service interruptions this year had resulted in four deaths.
