Climate and heatwave impacts in Switzerland

By late August, the impact of the 2026 summer heatwave and drought became more pronounced. Surveys revealed that 74 percent of the population found the summer burdensome, with 37 percent reporting physical health issues such as circulatory problems or sleep disturbances.
